The internet, eh? What's all that about then? It's like a noticeboard that's really, really big and everyone is pinning up stuff like mad people. What a concept. There are loads of Arsenal sites, unfortunately a lot of them went up after the Double, all new and glistening and they're still there, with their pictures of a dancing Petit and Overmars upturning a small corner of his mouth in wild, hysterical joy. (Miserable sod.) So, the sites below are all definitely current, all interesting and all of varying quality.

If you come across any new sites let us know and we'll have a butcher's.

Public Service Announcement

A word for anyone who wants a link. We would be delighted for your link to appear here, but we warn you; we don't carry paid advertising- of any sort. That includes the cheap bastards who offered us £20.00 to stick a pug ugly web banner on one of our pages. Listen pal, we work in advertising and we know exactly how much media spaces are sold for. Your attempt to get something for nothing is typical of you wet behind the ears net shysters. You have been warned.

Official Arsenal Site

Well, it's like the programme in some respects; glossy, vacuous and soon to be expensive (see below). And yet, totally unlike the programme in other ways; the ink doesn't come off on your hands and you can't roll it into the tube and stick it in the cat's ear when he's asleep, shout down it and watch him grip the ceiling like a Warner Bros cartoon. Then again it's a lot like the programme in that the powers that be will be shortly charging you for the privilege for downloading all sorts of cack that you can probably live without. As a site, use it sparingly. Hype is hype, even if it is red and white. Look for a big copyright pogrom by the big boys soon yanking off images and videos from the fan sites.

Soccerupdate

During the season this is the site all the Fantasy Football fans haunt looking for news of Ipswich midfield catastrophes and surreptitious new signings by Jim Smith. A cornucopia of bad facts, mistakes and terrible rumours that have as much truth as a Jeffrey Archer testimony. But we like it.

Arsenal News Review

Funny site this. Interesting opinions and the odd salient fact that appears to feature here and nowhere else. One to watch.

Red Card

This is the site run by the local pressure group that is against the new Arsenal stadium. They are terrifically well organised, intelligent (up to a point) and they deeply hate the Arsenal. They do not represent the majority of people in Islington, but they do have that ferocious middle class preoccupation with their own backyards. Me, I'm sick of being told what to do and think by a bunch of people that have lived in Islington  for five minutes. Go to the site- bombard them with e mails, but keep it clean, keep it cogent and have the guts to sign it. They're a minority, they're wrong and they're forcing their narrow views on a silent majority. Make some noise.

Yahoo Sport Arsenal

General Arsenal news. OK in a lazy way.

NewsNow NewsLink Arsenal

Newsfeeds every five minutes from all over the known universe that are completely Arsenal. You'll drive yourself batty reading what the Aussie's think of the minutiae of the Arsenal's groundsman's policy or the Italian's of Lee Dixon's new patio. More information (and, it should be noted, more utter misinformation and repetition) than any human actually needs. Good laugh, though.

Arseonline

Good fan site. Useful if everyone at work is taking the piss and you need to have your red and white opinion confirmed or your battered ego stroked.

Skysports

Well, it's Murdoch, so it does have a slight whiff of brimstone about it. However they were the first to break the Campbell signing. And they're pretty thorough when they're screening something. Other than that they can't be arsed.

Arseweb

The best Arsenal site, bar none. Witty, thorough and independent. We can't think of a funny, supercilious thing to say. Visit it now.

Steve Gleiber's Arsenal Home Page

Still one of the best Arsenal  sites on the web. Run from a fabled country where fat men drinking tinnies carry around their young in pouches in their stomachs, whilst simultaneously barbequing prawns the size of broom heads, this site is nothing if not impressive. Five stars, Steve.

The Jack Kelsey Fan Club

An Arsenal 'Who was Who'. Not entirely comprehensive, but still a great stagger down memory lane. Really nice site, makes you feel kind of warm.

Arsenal Football Shirt Gallery

It's Arsenal, it footy and there's a gallery with loads of pictures of Arsenal shirts. Remember the silky green away kit? The yellow and blue, 'I've just been run over by a lorry with distinctive radial patterned tyres?' One day the new 'Shirley Bassey' goldfinger cast-off away kit will be in here. Top site.

Icons.com

Lots of Arsenal footballers have their personal web pages here (Bergkamp and Von Bronckhorst for example). This is also the home of the Gilles Grimandi Home Page. For some reason it always makes me giggle. Maybe I'm just simple.

Football 365

It's kind of like a daily funny paper, but it is run by a Spurs fan (Danny Kelly) so take it all with a pinch of salt.

Arsenal World

Really, the Arsenal should wind up their own site and have this one instead. Doesn't exactly do anything different from anyone else, but it is consistent and a great love for the red and white game does shine through. Recommended.
